This Is Me 04:30
Who are you when coffee is all that you need? Who are you after your seventh cup? And who when on Prozac? And who when on weed? And who when too stoned to get up? And who working overtime, deadline to reach, And who when the weekend is free? And who in the traffic jam? And who on the beach? Of whom would you say, “This is me?”
This is me. And who to your dog? And who to some rat? And who to the love of your life? And who to your child or to some stranger’s brat? And who to your father’s new wife? And who to your landlord and who to your boss? And who to the guy at the bar? And who to your friend who has suffered great loss? What what they all say that you are? This is me. And who when with implants and who when without? And who on the stage or the screen? And who in your evening dress before going out? And who when alone and unseen? And who after surgery, facelift and trim?
And who, body-pierced and tattooed? And who gaining weight and who back to slim? Which one would you say is you? This is me. And who when you’re wrinkled and bald after birth
Or wrinkled and bald before death? And who when you’re wondering if there is worth In your next meal or your next breath? This is me.

about

This album is a tribute to a band you've never heard of.

IF made two CDs before the three members went their separate ways. They continued to collaborate off and on in subsequent years, but geographical separation made any kind of meaningful existence as a band problematic.

I only know the IF story because I was in this band. I thought—and still think—we had some great songs.

After IF, Marco (the fellow in the middle in the photograph) recorded one of my favorite albums of all time: Thirst. Look for it. I composed the title track. We wrote the centerpiece of the album, "In this moment," together. But for reasons beyond the scope of this already too long "about this album," he left the best song off the album.

With his permission, I have finished the Thirst outtake "Looking For Gold." Along with it, I've completely redone a bunch of my other favorite IF songs.
